Campus Lab PCs, need to perform auto image restore every night at 2am
At the start of each term, I re-image computers which creates a 'fresh' install. Over the terms time, students download files, and do things on computers which tends to slow them down. At the end of the term, i perform a fresh re-image. I don't want to lock students out from saving files on their respective desktop (active directory logins), but i want to reduce the time I spend refreshing PCs.
I'm familiar with software which is called Deep Freeze, but I don't want to spend money on licenses. Can the built in windows system restore be automated to do this every night/morning at 2am?
My thoughts - Create a fresh system image and have it restored to that image every night. This way students won't clog up the computers.
