Backup Restoration After Acronis Image Restore

I have done data recovery in the past with success, however this time im having issues

Basically the user had acronis true image installed, they made a full backup on their system

Later they started having issues and decided to restore that image which was from a yr ago, they did not make any other backups and now i am having trouble trying to restore it

I used stellar recovery and when i try to recover the entire drive onto a terabyte external it says not enough space and gives me a huge # EVEN THOUGH the partition is only 600gb

I had the same issue with recuva, so i thought it was a bug, but apparently its not as its doing the same thing with 2 programs right now

So instead of doing that, i started by recovering their documents folder which is going through just fine

However when i start trying to look at the pdf, photos and docx files even though they have the right file names the files themselves wont work

The docx files asked me to recover so i did that and it showed the text, but the other files dont appear to be working properly

I tried some raw recovery programs but after it was done it says the partition is 600 terabytes

Linux CENTOS 7 / various Windows OS'es and servers

Hi there
If you still have the ACRONIS backup image you can MOUNT this . Windows will then show you all the files etc in the backup with Windows explorer -- then you should be able to restore the relevant directories. This works even if you did an IMAGE backup (Disks / partition images) rather than DATA backup (by directories).

There should be a tool in your acronis software called Image explorer. -- Use that. Don't try and restore an image that's from several releases of software earlier than the one you are using now. The Image explorer is the tool to use.

how acronis true image home different from win7 backup and restore
I have got a license for Acronis True Image Home 2010. To my surprise, I don't like it unlike many other folks who swear on this software. Acronis creates a backup image in .tib or .zip format whereas Windows 7 Backup and Restore creates system image in an encrypted folder (with all files and...

Acronis TI 2010 - Clone Or Backup Image?
Today I did my monthly disk imaging , and decided to test out the restore process using the smaller hard drive I have as a spare. It worked, but because the spare drive is much smaller than my active drive, I can only only backup/restore the system partition, not the data one. Since this means...

I will be upgrading to W7 next month so I have a question about backups. I have never used anything but the normal procedure for making backups and I accidently ran across this Acronis True Image 2010. I went to their website and read about it and it comes with a price of $50. They were...
