Dell laptop restore

    Dell laptop restore


    I'm trying to do a recovery on my buddy's laptop every time I try to do the f8 repair it will do the normal windows is loading files then continue to the login screen not windows recovery. Anyone have a solution?

    Hi raiderkeek7,

    Please check by pressing F2 and F12 if you are able to access the pre boot menus. Also, check with an external keyboard to isolate the issue.

    If you have made a backup using Dell Datasafe Local Backup then you can check the link below for performing a restore:

    And lastly you can check to clean re-install the windows on the system:

    Clean Install Windows 7

    Ok I did the Dell Datasafe Local Backup and get the 0xc000001 winload.exe error

    Thanks for your reply. You would only be able to restore using the DELL datasafe software if you have previously made backup of your windows image using this software.

    Please let me know if you have made a backup earlier and also is it on CD or a USB drive.

    You could try performing PC restore using the first link mentioned in the first post. And, if it fails then you can perform a clean re-installation of windows on the system.

    Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.
