I don't know if they would conflict (although, temperamental as Win 7's imaging can be, I suspect they would) but why would you want to use both?

macrium restores your hard drive to whatever state it was in when you saved it, It makes an iso file saved to another hard drive or partition and when you want to restore it you boot your computer with a usb or cd and use the tools provided there to find your iso and it restores, I dont know what you mean about a conflict with windows restore unless you have the windows restore files on the same hard drive then they will be over written

There is no conflict between Windows Backup and Macrium. You can run both on the same PC and also if you want to the same backup drive. I do.

No they wont. Don't do them at the same time though as they will both make snapshots using VSS.

i meant to say, can u do a backup using windows and macrium at different times i.e one backup weekly at sunday 7pm, the other at 3pm sat. so not at the same time of course. stored on your external hard drive keeping the macrium image files separate from windows 7 files. i am making sense?

Yes, that is no problem. Unlike Windows backup Macrium allows you to create your own folders to store the images. This can be changed for each image if you like but it doesn't need to be as Macrium will generate a unique file name for each image.
