Vista - System Restore & Installing Windows 7

Just wanted to say for those who aren't aware and are doing fresh installs in the next couple days. If you have your hard drive partitioned and have system restore turned on, on both drives you might want to try to remember do disable system restore on the other partitions (D,E, whatever) before you do a fresh install. If you don't it will leave the shadow copies behind and it will take a few steps to get rid of them. Its just easier to turn off system restore first. This only applies to fresh installs not upgrades.

    Zone,
Thanks for the heads up on this. However I was a day late for reading this. I can turn system restore off and then back on again to delete and start over? Is that the Fix?
I have vistax64 / win7x64 in a dual boot both on same disk. Any and all info will be appreciated

Yes turning restore on of course clicking ok and waiting for it to delete the restore points, then back on will remove them.
