Hello. Had a Trojan and what seemed to be the worlds worst Windows update on my PC that knocked it and the router offline and seems to have scrambled the Ethernet over Powerline link to a second PC sharing the same DSL modem. The EoP issue was the last of a long night when drowsy me knocked the power strip from the socket. Yea. It was cleaned, clear, up and running again at that point too.
Upon restarting it I only got a prompt to insert boot medium+press any key, so here I am. The longer version being that none of the repair installs took. Possibly something to do with a bumped keyboard starting a clean install before I stopped it by hitting eject. Fun day. On the bright side my SSD doesn't seem to be dead. It just doesn't have anything on it that looks to the boot disc like a previous install much less a last known good configuration...just a lot of 0x0 errors in the details when it says it needs to restart.
So, is there any hope of repairing my original install without loosing everything? Granted I don't absolutely need any of it but it was getting to the point of a backup being a good idea. Actually on my things to do list for the week that nothing I did today was on. I might sound grumpy, LOL.
Anyway I'm not sure if this is the best section for this issue but there were no BSOD involved so it seemed like here or nowhere. I'll be surprised if I'm giving you enough of the right kind of information but I'm not exactly an expert and I didn't get much sleep before being awakened to fix the 'internet and stuff', which was yesterday now so my apologies for rambling.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks for your time.
