    unknown file system grub rescue


    hello I'm sorry to post this query again as I'm sure there must be a thread related to this but i have a very bad internet connection as of now so kindly help me
    i tried recovering my laptop a sony vaio e series back to factory settings and upon restarting it is showing unknown file system grub rescue ,i had linux 9.0 mint installed which i stopped using a long time ago. so now i want go back to windows and have my laptop as i had bought it without linux . i also do not have any recovery discs as it was installed on the hard disk. please help me out.

    Hello and welcome arjun mate try this Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
    you will of course need the use of a second computer ?friends? to make the media with.

    hey thanks for the above help but as of now i dont have access to another laptop for a week. i have the linux cd with me and have read at some other forums to try installing linux again will that help??

    Sorry arjun I cannot comment on that solution mate as I haven't used Linux stuff very much the occasional bootable Ubuntu to sort out problems and I would say that might be a route to go but again you need the media (disk) for Ubuntu.
