Clone windows 7 using windows 7 disk

Hey all,
I just forgot how I did , I cloned my windows 7 using windows 7 disk in the past how ever lol I forgot how I did, it the cloned copy I made in the past works perfect using the windows 7 disk, I just bought a bigger hard drive and I want to repeat the process again and I just can't remember what and how I did it...
I remember using the windows 7 disk either in boot up mode and it did ask to image the windows 7
any help would be appreciated.

But I just want to figure out how to do it with windows 7 disk, it was very easy and flawless experience,
why using foreign software when you can do that with windows disk...
I am not cloning SSD just HDD.

If you are adventures, you can use the Windows 7 built-in imaging program. But that is a by far inferior to the free Macrium option.

ok I will give it a shot, do you know if I can clone a larger volume drive onto a smaller volume drive
lets say get my OS from 500 gig hdd to a 320 gig hdd, or does my target drive have to equal or exceed the main drive with OS.

With a Macrium image that is possible - provided the original amount of data fits. But then you can also shrink the 500GB to 320GB. That's what I would do - it's safer.

For the shrinking you will need the bootable CD of Partition Wizard because Disk Management probably can't do it (because it cannot move the MFT).

See the last box on this website. Burn this .iso to CD and boot the system with that CD. And here is a video tutorial that shows you how to do it.
