Backup want to run but I don't need it

    Hi

On my sons PC, System Check wants to run a backup and asks for a Disk, it runs then asks for another disk, then it runs to 25% but stays there and we have to switch off the PC with the Power switch to restart it and use Windows.

We do not need the backup to be run and the backup schedule has been removed but the current scheduled backup seems to have to run.

How do I stop any requests from system check to backup?

    Thanks

    Daniel

    Hello Daniel,

If this was for a "Windows Backup" that was set up with a schedule and not from some installed 3rd party backup program, then resetting Windows Backup should stop this.
Hope this helps for now, :)

    Hi Shawn

I am pretty sure I have done this and the current pre-scheduled backup still wants to run
    but is in error.

But I will check it out and let you know, it may take a few days as I have work scheduled for the next two weeks but may get the chance to check it out sometime soon.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Daniel

    Hi Shawn

we went through the process to reset to default config and the process is not trying to run anymore however, on the action centre flag there is a sign "backup in process"

Is there a way to stop this?

    Thanks

If you are no longer using Windows Backup, then you could just turn off the Windows Backup message in Action Center to stop it.

Action Center - Change Message Settings

    Hi Shawn,

we completed the process to turn off the Windows Backup in the tutorial but the message "backup in progress" is still showing.

There is no disk in the DVD drive.

    Any ideas on a solution?

    thanks and regards
