Image not found when I try to restore

This can be marked as solved now

I didn't figure out why my image wasn't being read but I found out why I crashed during installation
It was because I had a new wireless mouse still plugged in..the receiver is small that I forgot that it was there . So I was able to do a clean a install of windows once I removed it. Although I will be making use of the backup rescources here, since I'm really not trusting windows version anymore. Thanks to those who replied.

Does the image file (VHD) still exist. If yes, you could recover it with this method.

True, you have to have a running PC.

I really appreciate the replies so far, but non of this can help me right now. I just don't have access to a second pc right now. I'd also like to know why it's not finding the image, when I know it's there. I've made no changes to that external hd, so it's really frustrating that my backup ..the thing that's suppose to help isn't even found

With Windows imaging and on the high seas you never know what is going to happen. I can only advise you to use a reliable imaging program next time. For now, without access to a running PC, there is really little you can do. YTou cannot even check whether the image really exists.
