Why you don't have a win7 repair disc? System Repair Disc - Create (can be done on another machine)
Win7 install ISO here: Windows 7 Direct Download Links (pick the correct language, version [home premium/professional/ultimate], 32bits/64bits [X86/X64])

Did you disable "system protection" on purpose, so that's why "system restore" doesn't find any restore points? System Protection - Turn On or Off

I can't create a system repair disk as my computer can't boot, I didn't purposely activate system protection, again I can't check as I can't log on and my mac book dosn't have a DVD drive

A win7 install disk has alos the option "repair computer". Actually it runs same code as the win7 repair disc. I told you where to download it. Do it yourself or let someone else do it for you.

BTW: what happens exactly when starting win7 in "safe mode"?

Strange... I expected safe mode to load a lot of drivers. The drivers scroll over the screen. Last one listed is normally CLASSPNP.SYS

IT CAN'T BE EXACTLY THE SAME!

So safe mode showed a lot of drivers scrolling over screen. Last line shown was CLASSPNP.SYS?
After that it did freeze forever (wait 4 minutes)?
