I suggest you do a clean install and hopefully all the important data has been backed up.
How would you suggest getting a bootable copy of the installation disk or sytem repair disk? Both have a cmd option, which is al i need. Thanks for all your helps.
cool, thanks. that seems like it might work... if it boots correctly.
any recommendation of which one to DL?
obviously the english home premium x64, but as far as:
-SP1 U (media refresh)
-SP1 (old)
-RTM
any knowledge of the differences and which one i might should DL?
im thinking any might be fine, seeing as tho i just need the prompt and not actualy installing the ware..
i also read in a thread somewhere while trying to fix my problem, someone had trouble booting one of these files, judging by the file name, and they changed the iso name to 'WINDOWS7' and it worked fine... so theres another DVD to burn if it doesn't boot from the disc with its current file name..
thanks again. hope this works, and i will let you know.
and any more suggestions are great too, just in case.
now I DLed the SP1 (old) version, and it won't boot.
any ideas why or know if those files actually boot?
im burning them in powerISO, at the slowest speed.
i do not get it.
Are you burning it to a USB or DVD? Check the BIOS and make sure which ever one is the first boot device.
I've never had a problem burning a DVD with Windows. Right click on the ISO file and choose burn. Can't get much easier.

burning to DVD, and yeah, CD drive is supposed to be booting first according to my BIOS setup..
havent tried a flash drive, or your right click iso burning method.
