    New drive, new Win 7...best way to restore/install programs


    Hi guys...

    Got a new HDD with a new Win 7 installed...updated and ready to roll...do NOT have a system image...all backups were done using Windows Backup program.

    Question now is what is the best way to restore from my backup (on an external drive) and install programs..in other words, should I try to install all the programs I can remember I had such as Picasa, Chrome, some work programs, MS Office, Adobe reader, etc FIRST or just get the files/data on the new HDD first?

    There may be newer versions of them so it would be better to download the ones that you remember again.

alright so since my desktop build, i was uninstalling EVERYTHING from my laptop because it was all gamestuff. welp, some how in doing so, i can NOT install any other programs ( steam comes with error 2203) and i also can not restore anything. how can i fix this? any ideas?
Some say the programs/games would run smoother because its in the same drive as Windows. Others say install stuff in another drive and let windows have a whole drive , so that windows can run smoother. Thank you
Hi, Whenever I install any application or a program then I want that app or program to give me the option where I want to install it. Currently, they all are being automatically installed in C drive which I don't want. Any Idea???
