ERROR in RUNNINg third party programs with .EXE file extension.

    Hello,

I have downloaded third party software having .EXE extension on my WINDOWS 7 Pro system( 32 Bit OS) This Program is Virus-Free and Clean . I tried to RUN the program. But I could even open the file , could not RUN and INSTALL it on my PC Desktop

I tried System File Checker tool ( SFC ) to RESTORE the files , if missing or corrupted , if any , by typing Command Prompt in START search and Running as Administrator by right clicking Command Prompt and BY GIVING COMMAND >
    c:\users\Administrator>sfc /scannow.

However, this also gives error message as : "sfc" is NOT recognised as internal or external command , operable program or batch file

Can anyone tell me Urgently the solution over this which will allow me to RUN the program with .EXE file extension which I have downloaded to my system

    Thanks, Shashikant

If you are trying to run sfc /scannow this Tutorial will show you everything you need.

    By Brink:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

What 3rd party program are you trying to install?

    Hello Layback Bear ,
I already tried Brink's STEP 2 >sfc scannow command prompt as stated in Tutorial there . But instead of c:\windows\system32> it gives c:\users\Administrator
and when I try it, it gives ERROR as " SFC is not recognised as an external or internal command , operable program or batch file . In such situation , what shall I do ?

My Third party programs are :: 1) Bitcoin Generator.exe
    2) iLivid ( Video Downloader )
    3) Malawarebytes (Anti-Malware program ) This file has been extracted successfully and shows .exe file too. But the ERROR message states: “Windows can find .exe file “
    4) Updater V4.rar ..This RAR file too, can not be opened and RUN

Scanned system, found corrupted files & was unable to fix

    Hello,

Thanks for info . I scanned the system by download of ELEVATED Command Prompt.
It reported some corrupted files, but was unable to fix some of the them ,I checked up the LOG Report :: as given in c:\windows\logs\CBS\CBS.log

Most the files and registry keys are repaired ..But , Please guide me further how to FIX only some of the corrupted files which could not be fixed by SFC command .

    Thanks for your time

Did you do as per tutorial. Run sfc /scannow 3 or more times with a reboot between each?
If you have please post the sfc /scannow log and I will find someone to read it.
The tutorial also gives instruction on how to post the logs.
These logs are tricky little devils to read and understand but we do have members that do that.

Sorry for being so late. Some how this thread got lost in my brain.
You must do all scans and repairs for the administrator level.
