Win 7 HP error code 0x8078002A On GDrive Slim reformated for NTSF
Windows 7 HP backup ends just over half way through in creating the shadow copy resulting in an I/O error with code 0x8078002A.
I checked all the links provided here in SevenForums and followed the instructions/helps that pertain to this 500G external drive with the same results. The computer is an HP Pavilion P6813w.
External hard drive appears under Computer Management.
Am running Norton 360, disabled backup, no change
Had Norton technician remove the software to see if it was interfering, no change
Uninstalled, reinstalled drivers, no change
Ran sfc /scannow on both C and destination drive, no problems reported on either.
Device Manager indicates no problems with drives or USB.
Logged out of Administrator, no change
Have scoured Microsoft for 0x8078002A error code fixes, checked/performed as instructed, no results
Microsoft software shadow copy provider, Volume shadow copy, and Windows Backup are all set at "manual" under Local Services.
Most all posters I read abandoned the project and purchased third party software in order to back up a system image and files. Is that the only remedy or is there a fix for this? Would appreciate any help offered. Thanks!
Edit: Also, the external hard drive DOES have files on it from the Norton 360 backup feature.
