Reading up on google I noticed that if there is a SSD fitted you don't have the option for a system restore to an earlier time
That is not so. You just have to turn system restore on. I suggest you give it 5GBs.

And do what Brink said. There is no need to have 20GBs unused. That is from the original image which was 20GBs smaller than your disk.

But ultimately you should make frequent images. Restore points can be helpful but they are also very volatile. They have the habit of disappearing for various reasons. Here is a tutorial on how to make images - use an external disk to store the images.

PS - I just saw that you set the shadowstorage to 10GB. That's OK too.

Brink No I had no plans for the 20.25 GB unallocated space on Disk.Yes I could extend it all into one.
Would that be easy?

ignatzatsonic. Thanks for your reply.Regarding the point about restore points how would I gain access to one of them?

Take a look at how many restore points you have every week or so. If they aren't frequent enough to suit you, just make one manually.

Yeah, that's good.

I'd make a manual restore point right now to be sure it's firing on all cylinders.

When you do that, you should see the "current usage" move up from 0.

David.
When you manually create a restore point, it may take a bit to show up. Automatic restore points are only created before specific actions (ex: before installing Windows Updates).

System Restore isn't creating (or saving?) restore points properly
For some reason my System Restore function isn't automatically creating (or isn't showing) System Restore points as it should be doing for "major" system events (e.g., isn't automatically creating restore points before/after Windows Updates and software/driver updates). I'm not sure if it isn't...
