Does your computer have a DVD drive?

    If it does, go here:

Windows 7 Direct Download Links, Official Disk Images from Digital River

and download an ISO file of the EXACT same version of Windows you now have.

Burn that ISO file to a blank DVD. That will be your installation disc.

Back up any personal files that are now on the PC.

Boot from that burned disk and install Windows 7 from it. Activate the installation with the 25 character "Product Key" that you should see on a sticker on your HP PC.

Don't bother doing this if you do not have the Product Key.

You could instead use the recovery partition on your HP to restore to factory condition, but that would NOT be a clean install and would NOT require you to use the Product Key.

Yes. If you do a clean install, you'd have to reinstall Word and Excel.

You would lose ALL programs. All you would have is a clean Windows installation. You'd need to reinstall everything else.

If you use the recovery partition, you WOULD have whatever programs were on the PC when it was shipped from the factory. But that would NOT be a clean install.

So, you have to decide on one or the other: using the recovery partition or doing a clean install.
