    System restore - Can't turn on~?

    Hi folks,

For some reason I cannot turn on the system restore utility Win 7 Pro 64bit. I've gone through the microsoft video tutorial about turning it on and when it get to the part (on the the system properties tab) where you check the "restore system settings and previous versions" link (instead of the turn off system protection) - it won't let me as this is dulled out and appears unavailable????

Tried having a look around this and have had various warning about filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect (0x8007007b).

Can anyone shine some light on this for me please???

    Thanks in advance

Hello Onionrage, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Double check using this tutorial below to see if you are able to turn it on.

System Protection - Turn On or Off

    Hope this helps,

Splendid!! Working. For some reason under the lists of drives/partitions to add protection to - right at the bottom of the list was a drive C listed in brackets as missing. This had protection turned on for it. I unchecked this and was then able to select on the other c drive listed (local disk system) and where it was previously faded out and unselctable - it was selectable.

    Many thanks for the reply.
