Do offline disks power down too?
I just cloned my disk with Macrium Reflect. Worked great, and I was able to boot from the new disk just fine. I kept the old disk, to use itself again as backup disk. I did put it offline, though, in Disk Management (so as not to accidentally write on it). I got 2 small questions left, though:
1) Putting a disk offline is effectively just unmounting it, right? So, should I ever need to boot from it again, in case of a calamity, I will be able to boot from it just fine, right? (even though it's currently marked as offline).
2) My harddisks power off after 20min idle time. Will offline disks power down that way too? Wouldn't want to have it spin endlessly, merely because it's no longer in the 'online' pool.
Thx.
