Do I need to create System Image after each backup?

When I use Win 7 backup, it gives me the option each time I create a backup to create a system image. I created a system image on a CD a couple of days ago. Why does it ask me if I want to create another each time I do the backup? Is it talking about creating one on my hard drive, not a CD?

If it's just my hard drive then perhaps I should create one each time, but creating one on a CD is onerous. Plus, if this is the case, (that it wants me to create a CD) I don't know how that's to be done if the backup is on a schedule in the middle of the night.

The restore point will not be saved on a cd

wsplawn, this is talking about a repair disk that you can burn to a CD and repair your computer or go back to a system image that you created eariler..This is a good idea if you don't have the Windows 7 install disk..if you do have the install disk I would ignore it...But You can make one.. I did and now I have two repair disks one is my Install disk and the other one is the one I made to a CD..

    Hope this Helps..

OK, I'm beginning to understand a little beter. Win 7 is a new system and I am a little confused on the terminology. I will regroup my thought and respond when I understand a little better.

    Thank you for helping.
