Home Premium and Backup
Does Home Premium have the image backup that professional and ultimate has?
Does Home Premium have the image backup that professional and ultimate has?
Yes, it does. I think the only significant difference is where you can place the backups. On Pro and Ultimate, you can put images on a network drive.
Nothing. However, there are other differences, not related to the backup feature, between the various versions. But for the vast majority of people, Home Premium has everything one would reasonably need. Nice of MS to make HP so full featured, don't you think?
Not really, some people need XP mode and it is not in Premium.
XP mode as in one you download from Microsoft which you cannot from Premium.
No but you can install the MS Virtual PC or Machine which you have to do to install XP Mode anyway and then, what I think he's saying is that you can then install a virtual XP machine with your own copy (and key) for XP, which is basically the same thing as XP Mode. Just a different route of installation and you have to have your own valid copy/key of XP.
Aye that is what I was trying to say Harpua, thanks.
XP Mode does not equal the copy of Windows XP you get if you have Pro or Ultimate. XP Mode is the virtualization addons you install in the virtual guest OS. If you have your own copy of Windows XP or Vista or 7 you can install it in Virtual PC, install the addons and get the integration.
