Which recovery software is good ?

I'm looking for a good recovery software which can help me do following things.
  • System Restore
  • Total recovery in case of windows failiure
  • Data Restoration from external HDDs

That'd be all, i'll appreciate your help.

All you need is the free Macrium Reflect. I used it and it saved me several times.

I'd probably use Macrium for system backup and recovery.

But I'd use some else for personal data backup and would not use imaging for that purpose. There's a bunch of applications that will automate the backup of personal data from one drive to another.

You say "data restoration from external HDDs". If these external drives contain backups of internal drive data, I'd just use drag and drop when I needed to restore to an internal. Not quite sure what you mean.

I am a user. It is all you need. No system restore. You must keep it up to date. You may want to back up your personal stuff, just so you are always current.

Data Restoration from external HDDs
There is no software app that will work ALL the time to restore data from drives -- internal or external.

If data was simply deleted, even free data recovery apps like "Recuva" can get it back.

When partitions have been removed or filesystems have been corrupted, Recuva could work then, but I've found RecoverMyFiles to be the one of the best, with GetDataBack for NTFS (from the same company) being the best.

When hardware failure is a part of the problem, there is no software that is going to work -- no matter WHAT they say in the advertising claims. Recovery in those cases requires physical repair and reconstruction of the drive -- and that is REALLY expensive, starting typically at around $1000 USD.

^ totally agree, hardware failure can only be fixed through physical repairs if that's possible.

Good Blu-Ray Software?
I recently got a new Blu-Ray drive for my PC, but found that software used to play said movies seems to be a rarity. The only ones I can find seem to cost $50 to $100, which is definitely an amount I don't want to spend. Does anyone know of any good (possibly free) software that plays Blu-Ray...

What good Win 7 Blu-ray software is out there?
Hey everyone, I've been using CyberLink PowerDVD for almost two years, but now it's broken and won't play most of the newer BDs, and their support refuses to help me. I've never liked the program anyways, and now I'm wondering, what other good BD playback software is out there for Windows 7?

Need a good BBS software...
Okay, I just realized Valve patched Portal and added encrypted messages inside encrypted messages! I want to take a look at these personally, and one of the things I need is a nice BBS program. Anyone familiar enough to recommend one? Thanks.
