    Creating a Backup Boot Disk

I have Win 7 Professional and realized that I cannot locate a backup boot disk and should have one if needed.

I did not create one immediately after installing Win 7 and have a lot of things on there already.

    So, my questions are:

    1. Does it matter that a year or so has passed since I installed Win 7 and have many things in the computer?

    2. Will creating a boot disk hurt anything? (Everything is running so well now that I hate to risk messing things up.)

The process of creating a boot disk seems easy enough, according to the instructions here:

How To Create a Windows 7 System Repair Disc [Easy]

    Thanks in advance.

It does not matter when in time the disc is created
All boot discs created by win 7 are identical for that version ie 32 bit or 64 bit
A 32 bit recovery disc can be used on any 32 bit system etc

If you are interested in protecting your system then by far the most important step is to periodically take backups and preferably have a system image you can restore to if you ever suffer major problems or HDD failure

So, it does not matter if it is for a Professional or Home version.

It just matters of it is for 64 or 32 bit.

If I wanted to create one for someone with a Home version (not Professional like mine) that is also using 64-bit, it would be compatible then, right?

I should be making system backups and/or a snapshot and have not done so yet.

Will that burn a copy on a CD as well?
