Acronis vs Macrium vs AOMEI?

I am currently using Acronis to backup my PC, from what I have read, it seems like Macrium Reflect is better than Acronis and I am considering switching to Macrium.

I recently discovered AOMEI Backupper too.

Any one have any experience which one is the best? (reliability, functions, ease of use, creating backup, recovering data successfully...)

Thanks

I use Macrium and Windows native imaging, without fail.

Macrium gives you more options.

I changed from Acronis to Macrium (paid version). I used Acronis for a long time and even recommended it to my clients. But, after it failed me twice on restores it didn't get a third chance.

Macrium Reflect v6 cost $69.95 and support period is 1 year. What happens after 1 year if you need support?

Anywhere to buy it at a cheaper price?

I should be able to use Macrium Reflect v6 for many years to come?

They say that a Macrium V6 free version will come out shortly. But you can still get a V5 free version.

I have used free Macrium since 5 years and it never failed me. It is certainly easier to use than Acronis. See my tutorial for details.

AOMEI Backupper is the kid on the block. Very easy to use and has the most function in the free version. That can be recommended too although I don't think anybody has years of experience with it yet. Apart from the AOMEI Backupper there is also AOMEI One Key That's an interesting one where you don't need any recovery medium.

The V5 Macrium WinPE recovery .iso you can download from my OneDrive. It is to initiate the recovery but you can also make images with it. If you want to try Macrium without installing it you can do that with this WinPE iso. Just burn that to CD and boot your PC with the CD.

PS - for support you come here. We have many Macrium gurus. Macrium also has a very good documentation.

I'm still using Macrium V4 along with the native Windows 7 imaging tool. Both have worked well for me. About a year ago I started using Aomei and it has also worked well. If I had to pick just two I'd go with Macrium and Aomei.

FWIW I do full system images, not incrementals or differentials and save each image to a separate external hard drive for redundancy. Macrium and Aomei seem to offer more flexibility than the Windows 7 tool so that's why I'd choose them over Windows 7.

Macrium / Acronis problems so using IFW from terabyte
Hi there On Windows 8 I couldn't get Macrium free to work properly when backing up an SSD to a USB3 external disk. I know this is W7 but some people will be testing W8 too so they will want a backup mechanism that works both on W7 and W8. I've had too many issues with Acronis to continue to...
