Need to create a bootable usb backup

Hello all,

a quick question - I have one machine ready for use - Windows 7 and office 2013. I need to duplicate the system setup onto a bootable usb so I can install the schools other 300 machines. What is the best software which will enable me to pick up the machine that is set up how I want it, insert a blank usb drive and in one movement make it bootable and copy the "image" (windows 7 and office 2013) to be later used on other machines?

thanks

Tim

We must know which booting type the computers have. Is it BIOS or UEFI?

I suggest that you create the USB with Windows 7 only first, then install it in the other machines.

Then cut the Windows 7 setup files, paste them in a folder in your computer, insert the Office 2013 files in the USB and start installation of Office from it.

Check what the booting type is in this site:

It's BIOS, not UEFI.
So I create the bootable with Windows 7 and when that has finished (I know that one) I just copy / paste the office installer package onto the usb drive?
Does that mean that it will automatically install with the OS?

Nope.
You must install it after installing Windows 7.
If you wanted to install Office 2013 with the OS,you would have to modify the install.wim file but this takes much longer to do.

As I said,I recommend that you move the Windows 7 setup files after installation in a folder and insert the Office files after that in the USB.

Just had a thought. If I set up one machine exactly s it should be (Windows 7, the latest office, updated defender and update, drivers etc.) is there a way I can use that as a "standard setup" and then pull a backup image of that one onto a bootable usb - instructions please. Thanks

Do you mean a complete Windows 7 OS to use as a backup copy?

I can't really understand what you're trying to say. If you want a Windows 7 image with Office, all updates, drivers and the like when you want to install Windows 7,you have to follow these instructions:
Slipstream Windows 7 SP1 into a Installation DVD or ISO File

This tutorial shows you how to slipstream SP1 in Windows 7,but it also shows how to integrate updates.
RT Seven Lite is a program which modifies install.wim, which is a file that contains the following folders:
PerfLogs
Program Files
Program Files (x86) (only for x64)
ProgramData
Users
Windows
In other words, install.wim contains the OS. It is the biggest file in the Windows 7 DVD (2-2,9 GB (depends on x86 or x64 and SP1 preinstallation)) and you can make it have drivers, programs, updates or even removed features. I haven't tested it though, because it hardly ever responds.

If this is not what you want to know, tell me as soon as possible.

Dear Vista Ultimate,

what I want to do is have a usb stick (or three) which contains Windows 7 OS (updated as far as it can be), Office (365 or 2010 / 2013) and a complete driver package for the specific machine. I want to use a single usb drive to reformat / make a clean installation.
I have heard that this can be done by taking a fully updated machine and cloning the computer setup, copying this onto a usb stick whilst simultaneously rendering it bootable. What do you think? Any advice?
