Upgrade to SSD from SATA, OS Migrate

Just got a 240GB SSD and i'm looking to take an image of the HDD to the SSD

is there anything i need to do or is it a simple copy/migrate the OS

any free OS copy software going about for this?

think my ATI is about 4 years out of date

You can use the free Macrium Reflect software to make an image of your hdd that could then be restores to the ssd. You cannot do a simple copy operation to migrate the OS.

If the hdd is larger than the ssd, you may need to repartition the hdd in order to get the partition containing the OS small enough to fit on the ssd.
