Macrium saved my bacon

My hard drive failed.
I was getting constant " program not responding" and was getting nervous, so I backed every thing up and sure enough, today it would not start at all.
Also, windows was telling me : could not access your hard drive, that happens, but could be a sign of HD failure."
got me a new drive and restored with Macrium and all is fine.

This post is just to let every one know: BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP.

any one know what the warranty for a Seagate 500gb hard drive is.

Generally, most hard drives have a 5 year warranty. I don't know specifically about the one you have. Check with Seagate.

Actually, most Seagates now have a one year warranty. Seagate has been known to apply the shorter warranty to older drives that had a two year warranty. A few of the higher priced models have warranties up to five years so I would check with Seagate to see if you might get lucky.

Macrium Reflect has saved my bacon data numerous times. I use it to backup my OS and programs drive or partition (depending on which machine I'm referring to). I prefer to use a folder/file syncing program (FreeFileSync) to backup my data drives/partitions.

I found out that the warranty is one year and my drive is almost two years old.
I expected that it was one year, that is why I purchased a new drive without waiting for Seagate.
thanks

Macrium Free vs Macrium Pay
I am using the free version. I have visited the site and read what the pay version does. As far as I can tell the incremental backups is really the only thing that seems worthwhile. I was just curious if anyone has tried the pay version and found a feature that made it worth paying for. Thanks,

Can You Tell Me If I Have Saved My PC?
My Windows 7 has been put through the ringer. It looks like I might have saved it but I don't know Windows well enough to be certain. My questions to you: 1) Considering SFC and Disc Checks are completing without issue, is Windows back to its old self or do I need to do a clean install to have...

Can these DVD+R DL be saved and/or reused somehow
I was trying to copy multiple folders to DVD for backup and was getting ongoing errors trying to use Roxio and/or LG Burning tools. Another post recommended I go with Imgburn because apparently my issues were with file name length issues which I guess Roxio/LG do not deal well with. After a...

Bacon is apparently the thing
Hmmm...Bacon Soap, Baconnaise, Drink Tabs, Wallets, Floss, Vodka, Gumballs...probably more out there. My wife actually bought the Bakon Vodka to give it a try....she said it was....different. I only took a tiny sip. Imagine 80 proof bacon & that's what it tasted like.

Win 7 Saved Me :D
I was talking to my friends on Steam and i spilled root beer on my computer while i had the case open due to overheating from overclocking. I do not know if its because of win 7 but my computer shut down as soon as i spilled it, i turned it back on and its been working fine. Thank you Win 7! :D
