How to clone true image backup file to new partition?

I ran out of space on the C: drive I installed Win7 on so I made a backup with Acronis True Image in hopes of putting this on one of the larger partitions on the same drive.
The problem is that it seems like Acronis won't let me clone an individual partition to another partition, it only gives the option to clone to another physical drive?

I can open the Acronis backup of the original C: drive, and I tried to copy/paste this over to the bigger "K" partition but got the error: "a required privledge is not held by the client" right at the end of the copying.

"K" is a logical partition, do I need to change this to primary to load the original C: drive onto it? If so, how? Man, this really sucks any help on how to get the backup onto the bigger partition is appreciated.

Almost all recent versions of Acronis TI can install an image back-up file onto any suitable partition.

'Suitable' means one you have permission to alter, and which is large enough and appropriately formatted.

It is possible some versions of TI are not fully complaint with W7

I may be misunderstanding you, but you don't "copy and paste" with Acronis.

You open the application and look for a menu choice for "restore" or something like that.

I tried "restore" but only my two external drives come up as restore targets, not the "individual" partition on these drives. I did not want to overwrite everything I have on the whole drive.
The copy paste thing was just to see if that was possible.

I'm using Acronis True Image home 10 which as far as I know is the latest version.

    Any tips?
