    Restore to earlier date

I am trying to perform a restore from and earlier date (actually only 2 days earlier). Nonetheless, the restore never gets past "initializing" stage. The "wheel" continues to spin, but judging from the hard drive indicator, there is nothing happening....a single blink every 30 sec or so. Thanks in advance for your help.

Further, I am trying to restore to a couple of days ago because I believe I picked up some spyware. I noticed that Windows defender is turned off, and I am unable to turn it back on. Help...thanks.

What security programs do you have installed?

Hey..thanks for checking in. I realize now I can't run both Microsoft Security Essentials AND Defender. Which do you recommend?

MSE was designed to replace Defender in Windows 7.
MSE should turn off Defender when MSE is installed.
Defender in Windows 7 is obsolete.

You can type Defender in the Search off of the Start Orb and see if Defender is turned off.

    Your welcome.

I use MSE along with Malwarebytes Premium and it works well for me.
