What's edited about your post other than these 6 words:
EDITED. PLEASE SEE AMENDED POST ABOVE.
What's your remaining question?
This:
Para 5.1.4 of Acronis 2015 Manual = "Arranging boot order in BIOS". It says:
"To boot your computer from Acronis bootable rescue media, you need to arrange boot order in BIOS so the media is the first booting device." and:
“To boot from Acronis bootable media:
1. If you use a USB flash drive as a bootable media, plug it into the USB port. [I will use a USB ext. drive.]
2. Turn your computer on. During the Power-On Self Test (POST), you will see the key combination
that you need to press in order to enter BIOS.”
"Press the key combination (such as, Del, F1, Ctrl+Alt+Esc, Ctrl+Esc). BIOS setup utility will open.."
QUESTION 1: (On the italic bold text above), I have never seen this key combination. What should I do to get it to appear?
QUESTION 2: Am I Right in thinking that my machine will then automatically tell me the correct key combinations to press to get the BIOS setup utility to open, (so that I can then set my bootable backup to be the first booting device)?
If not, how do I find them?
Thanks.
The revised words are in italic. The remaining question is No. 1, about seeing the key combination. From your reply, perhaps I just hold F12 down before starting the machine and I will get the one-time opportunity to specify the boot volume. Is that correct?
(I'm wary about doing boot stuff. A wrong keystroke can cause havoc.)
Thanks
