    How much memory should be assigned to the restore point?


    How much memory should be assigned to the restore point?

    Total memory = 4 GB and 16 GB

    Hi:

    I'm not sure what you mean by assigning "memory" to a restore point.
    Do you mean how much "disk space" to allot?

    There are some recommendations here:
    System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage
    (Brink's recommendation there is ~1.3 GB per restore point.)

    Yes, I was thinking incorrectly. I should have said 250 GB disk space total. I picked 4GB for three restore points.

    Keep your eye on how many restore points you can get out of 4 GB. It varies, depending on the configuration of your PC. There's a reasonable chance you can get more than 3 points from 4 GB.

    I normally get about a dozen from 6 or 7 GB, dating back 3 or 4 weeks. If you think you might have to restore to a point from last November, you'll need to increase the space allotted. It's hard for me to imagine that I'd need to restore to a date more than a couple of weeks ago, at most.
