Create system image - what constitues a system drive?

I have an old PC with a fairly small (and almost full) SSD C drive and a couple of HDDs. When running a "Create a system image" backup, both the C and D drives are flagged as "system" and are automatically marked as being included in the backup. That was not the case on another PC.

I see nothing on the D drive that looks like system stuff. Things like the users, hiberfil.sys, pagefile.sys, etc. directories are all on the C drive, and only the C drive is flagged with the Windows icon.

Any idea why the system image create function thinks D is a system disk?

I have installed most programs on the D drive since I have so little room on the C drive. I may have moved libraries to, or added libraries on the D drive, but I doubt it. I don't use "libraries". I put folders where I want them and access them directly rather than putting them in Windows "libraries". But this is a very old PC, and I can't remember what I may have set up in the distant past to save space on the C drive.
