Does anyone have any experience with this product? Here's a quote from the advertisement page; "...a crack team of Microsoft Gold Certified developers has created their own solution, its’ a new software that digitally repairs your computer from the inside out. It’s easy to use and only takes 5 minutes to work." I came across the ad while looking at something on PC Mags web page. They are advertising a free download until 8/18. Is this safe?
As a rule, avoid any software that claims to automatically fix everything.
I installed the app into a virtual machine that has a fresh/clean install of Windows 7. The app found stuff that is not a problem. The app then wants $$$ to fix these non-issues.
PC Mag's website now has a lower reputation because they lead users to scams like this :-(
Look as far as I know those Microsoft Gold Partner badges are awarded to the companies for passing exams based on their staff understanding of Microsoft technology. It doesn't mean that the software that you can download from the developer has been scrutinised and approved by Microsoft and it doesn't mean that the software will not harm your machine.

Rather, it merely means that the company has met the requisite requirements, has paid the requisite fee and has earned the appropriate Partner Points for the Partner level. In addition to the above, Microsoft Gold Certified Partners must employ a minimum number of Microsoft certified professionals, meet the certification and sales requirements and submit competency-specific customer referrals.
Microsoft Certified Partners additionally complete one of three requirements (i.e. employ or employ by contract at least two Microsoft Certified Professionals, with three customer references approved by Microsoft or product software that Microsoft has tested and approved or hardware that a Microsoft authorized testing vendor has approved.)

Thank you for the info. I'm now experiencing a problem saving and/or opening folders with the correct program. I'm sure they used to open automatically with whatever program/file type they were saved in. I use an external platform to select and edit RE related forms (Offers, Addendums, etc.). For the past several days I have had to right click to get option of what program I wanted to open a document, otherwise it would automatically attempt to open with MS Word. Today I can't get a pdf. saved from the external platform to my computer. Any ideas on where and how to resolve this?
