Can't install windowsimagebackup from Recovery or Install disc

As a note I do have a working windows system but I do need to go back to a previous image of windows 7 from a week ago due to a complex software failure that would be easier to fix by just re imaging the SSD to a week ago. Also I do have a pretty decent understanding of windows seven and bios settings, boot priorities ..ect.

That being said, I cant seem to get any of the repair / recover senerios to work on my pc.

I have a windows repair disc I made after creating an image and when I restart and boot into it it freezes at this screen and there is no way to get past it.

I have also tried to use the windows install disc route and I cant seem to get past this screen as it just freezes and hangs there as well

I also tried to restart in Safe mode and when I get to the Boot Manager screen I am presented with the F8 advanced option. but when I press F8 it does absolutely nothing

I have not idea now how to restore back to my previous image since all these avenues are not workings. Not sure what the problem is but at first I thought it may be MBR so I used MiniTool to try to fix it but it had no affect on any of it. I did check Ram and it in working order. I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction, any help would be appreciated.

You could try putting the System Repair on a USB Flash drive and see how you go. I'd make a new CD/DVD one as a start to the process. As you may know boot the USB from a USB 2 port. You could try making it on another PC in case your CD-ROM drive is playing up.

Tried that as well and ended in the same result of a frozen recovery screen. I also tried to bring up windows error recovery by interrupting windows start up and it did bring up the option to start windows normally or repair. When I chose repair I ended up with this screen below. Obviously if I put in the repair or install cd I am back to square one.. any ideas?

I'd try booting your CD & USB rescue media on another PC. I'd also see if you can boot a live CD from your PC (eg. the light weight Puppy linux). You are clearly able to draw the conclusions from these tests.
Someone else may pick up on this thread and provide you with some other suggestions.

I`m having darn near the same problem. Coincidence? In my case, however, safe mode is non-responsive.

I believe it is an mbr problem which I tried to fix but seemed to have no impact... have you found a resolution?

Perhaps just a full format and then windows restore maybe the answer instead of restoring on top of a corrupt mbr
