How do I restore All Applications files Put in one Folder ?

While trying to diagnose my computer for a shutting down problem ,the service provider put all my applications, files ,what have you all into one folder and did not reconstruct them back into their individual applications. A 4 hour online support session later realigned 70% of just my Outlook applications. Is there an easier way to restore my applications ?

Thanks for your help in advance.

There are several portable programs, which can be placed onto either a USB-bootable or DVD-bootable, powerful enough to move folders and files to where same are supposed to be. However, one better be a superGeek folder&file manager; one can be in for a long session.

I guess you're saying these "portable programs" are inefficient and you ( I) need to be a superGeek to straighten out what the programs screw up. I paid the Geek Squad at Best Buy $300 for a 1 year service plan to analyze exactly what I need to do to prevent the windows shutdowns and they said replacing the hard drive ($60 ) would take care of it .Of course even with a new hard drive the shutdowns kept coming........but I had a new problem of folders and files not in their respectful applications. What is the best way for me to find out how to fix the shutdowns first before attacking the restoring files etc ?

correra, those 3rd party programs will efficiently and effectively move folders and files as you tell it to do so. I don't know what or if any programs can do fix miss-placed folders and files automatically.
Geek Squad installed a new hard-drive. Apparently they cloned your entire old hard-drive's partition[s] onto the replacement hard-drive.
If that is so, then, whatever software-caused problems you were having, you are now having the same software-caused problems on this new hard-drive.
Short of completely reInstalling Windows from scratch via Windows DVD or ISO, somebody who knows where all those folders are supposed to go will have to come over, boot their moving-program, and one by one by one move a folder and its files into proper position. If you do reInstall, make you copy your data files onto external media.
I do not know how to do that over the 'Net, I or somebody would have to be sitting at your computer. Well, maybe others in here can offer over the 'Net help, and I will listen in and learn from this thread.

There are several long shots we can try. I have bad eyesight, I cannot see the average embedded image. If you can give us a directory tree [using the same size font that these reply boxes use] of that giant folder that the tech put all your stuff into -- maybe I and others can help you one folder or group of folders at a time.

Back up option from external storage unit

I have an external back up storage unit (WD My Book 4 T ) I believe was up to date at the time.Does the storage unit have both data and applications together so maybe I could restore my programs through the external back up unit ?
