I may have to ask you to redo the bootable DOS drive to eliminate certain doubts I have now and I want to make sure there is no error.

Plugin your pendrive, run Rufus and post the screenshot like the one shown in my post #19 before you click on START.

OK, fine except that you have not chosen MSDOS ( but left it in the default FreeDOS.My instruction:In "Create a bootable disk using" select MS-DOS in the dropdown arrow") But for that everything is OK. It forced me to create a pendrive with FreeDOS to give further instructions. You need not create another DOS disk and we shall continue.

I shall now run it on my drive and give you further instructions.( I have already converted an MBR external drive with four partitions into a GPT drive more or less recreating your situation.) I shall be back in another one or two hours hours after running the trial on it.)

But be watchful and carry the instructions.

When you want to quit TestDisk
    1. You can repeatedly press Q in the keyboard till you get out of it.
    2. Once out , push the reset button on your PC to boot into Windows.

I forgot to tell you how to copy the files listed by TestDisk when you come that stage.

Please read this: My external hard drive suddenly became unllocated:

What you have to read is only from screenshot 3 there.

Your 1TB external drive is now empty isn't it? Create a folder named Recovery in the external drive.

You will be navigating to this folder as the destination to copy the files as explained in that post.

    Checklist:
a). Do you know whether your new 1TB external drive is an MBR drive or GPTdrive? If you do not know run Partition Wizard and check that it shows as a Basic MBR drive in disk map.

b). Have you created a folder named Recovery on that external drive?

Shut down your PC. Plug in your 1TB external drive and the bootable DOS pendrive with TestDisk. Till you finish Recovery, leave those connected to the same USB ports. ( Changing to different USB ports may change the order in whichTestDisk enumerates those)

Power on your PC and using the onetime boot menu, boot with the pendrive.

1.At the Command prompt C:\> type testdisk.exe and press Enter

    2. Screen 1. Using up/down arrows, highlight [No Log] and press enter.

    3. Screen 2. Will show three drives your 8GB pendrive, your system drive andthe 1 TB external
drive. Highlight your system drive and pressenter to [Proceed].

4.Screen 3. Is [EFI GPT] highlighted? Move it to [Intel] for we want to analyse it as an MBR drive and
    get the partitions. Press enter.

    5. Screen4. [Analyse] press enter.

    6. Screen 5. May show your current partition structure with a warning. That's Ok. Press enter. to do a
    [Quick Search]

7.Screen 6. Allow the analysis to complete Do you now see your NTFS partitions now? At the bottom do you see the message " Structure OK blah blah......" Read the complete message and you will see - P to list files. Highlight the partition you want to list files and type capital P (Shift+P)

    8. Screen7. Do you see the files in the partition? Select and copy those to the Recovery folder in the external. How to navigate and copy, I had already given the link explaining it hereMy external hard drive suddenly became unllocated: and so I am not going to repeat.Repeat the above procedure to copy the files in other partitions too.

At any point you have a doubt take a snapshot ( you had already done it ) and quit Test Disk. Post the snapshot.
(When you want to quit TestDisk

In my trial, Partition Wizard found the MBR partitions in a Quick Scan itself and so did TestDisk. In your case PW required a deep scan and so also TestDisk may need to do a Deeper Search but surely it should find the MBR partitions as PW did.

So after Quick search in screen 5, the screen 6 may be different requiring a Deeper Search. Select Deeper Search and press enter.Just Like PW deepl scan, this deeper Search may take sometime. If in doubt post the snapshot for me to have a look.
