Unique Installation Identifiers

Was wondering if someone could give me some advice on this.

In terms of a typical Windows installation, are there any numbers or IDs assigned to Windows that would distinguish it from other installs? Aside from product keys/serial numbers.

Example: I have an Acronis image of W7 Pro X64 (Sysprep audit mode), if I imaged it to two separate VMs (on the same host PC), would there be any accessible codes or IDs that could be used to distinguish between them?
Somebody told me about some kind of "installation id" which sparked my curiosity.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My apologies if this isn't the correct subforum for this.
