How to backup this?

Due to my system gradually getting slower and slower I thought I get myself an SSD drive to speed it up a bit. Now the problem is how to move my existing system onto the new drive. My OS is on a 300GB HD where over 200GB is free. The SDD is 240GB so cloning wouldn't work. Another thing is that most of my programs are installed on a separate partition on a separate physical drive. The Documents folder is also elsewhere on a separate drive. Ideally if I could somehow make an image of my C partition straight to the new drive. Can someone suggest best way to deal with that?

You can create a Macrium Reflect (free) backup image of the HD and restore it to the new SSD.
Macrium Reflect Free
You need to drag n drop the backup image to the new SSD (partition) so it will re-size as needed.
You will also need to check the SSD alignment.

Here is a tutorial by whs that should help:

Now my external drive is full. When I now delete...

G'day everyone Does anyone know of a simple backup program that is capable of backing up large files incrementally by splitting the file and backing up only changed parts of the file? The files I'm talking about are files that get altered by appending stuff at the end of the file, e.g. log...

Does the following make sense to use for a backup strategy? Like most people I am terrified of losing my data and I have 75,000 photos on my 2TB C: drive. What I am considering doing is adding a second internal 2TB drive and running Rebit to back up to that drive. Then adding an external 2TB...
