System restore taking forever on windows 7

Since Microsoft will not allow me to opt out of windows 10 install the only thing I could do for months was to postpone it the max time which was 5-6 days. Every time I have been able to catch it except for now. After a long day at work I got home to see windows 10 install 50% complete, I was furious and shut down my PC so i could reverse the process. As I was doing this I had a vision I was repeatedly kicking Bill Gates in the nuts while cursing at him. What a mistake this is turning out to be, since I'm stuck in the startup/repair loop where the monitor is disabled and I'm only able to access the recovery tool.

    Start up repair not working

System restore has been stuck for over 20 minutes.

System image is accessible but it's my back up HD for storage only, not for my windows 7 OS primary HD

I also went into bios and selected boot for dvd drive with my win 7 install disk for repair but it gave me an error saying it's the wrong OS. It must be seeing windows 10.

Am I sol? I'm afraid my only option is to nuke my OS and do a fresh install. God I hope not.
