Windows 7: System Recovery Stopped Functioning Post Windows 10 Downgrade

The application Dell Backup & Recovery Manager creates WIM files to restore the system to a previous state. This was working properly until this Windows 10 upgrade installation.

I upgraded to Windows 10 using an DVD that had the Windows 10 ISO mounted, then reverted back using the 'Settings > Update & security > Recovery > Go back to Windows 7' option the same day itself. When it removed Windows 10 then everything including the Windows activation returned to the earlier state.

Thanks.

What method did you use to upgrade to W-10?
How did you go back to Windows 7?
What method did you use?

Have you activated Windows 7 again and what fashion did you do that?

I ask these kinds of questions because it might help others to help you with your problem.

I too never kept the default factory installation and used always Dell Backup to restore to a customized version. I have the Version 1.3 installed that permits to recover a system image, however the new 1.6 version requires a payment to utilize this function. These applications did not have any issues until the Windows 10 installation was done.

There probably might be some boot settings that have been damaged, since it is not possible to even run the bootable devices either.

For Dell BackUp & Recovery and Acronis True Image, I think it would be better to install those afresh.
See it that action can make those application workable.

Threre are sevral 3rd party drive imaging tools. I use Aomei Backupper Standard version is free ( new version v3.5 now available). However, you already have a 3rd party program - Acronis.

You want to use the Dell recovery also. I am not familiar with it. If I come across anything relating to your Dell recovery v1.3, will let you know.

Thanks. It appears that it probably is not an issue with the imaging tool, since even the standard Windows startup does not load.

"the standard Windows startup does not load"

Do you mean you can't boot winre from the F8 key?
