Hi,
I'd avoid easy transfer and just do it the old fashion way it's more straight forward.
Plus you can save the files as backups.

You can use easy transfer to transfer data files and settings but you won't be able to move programs with it.

You will need to do a clean install of Win 7 in order to move from 32 to 64 bit and will need to reinstall all of your programs. Data can be backed up via an external drive using a backup program or simply copy and paste. You can use easy transfer to transfer files to another computer via network or easy transfer cable or by using an external drive. Here's a TechNet article explaining how to use easy transfer: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/.../ff943667.aspx

Installed Windows 7 Professional 32 bit onto a Dell Studio XPS 13 (PP17S). There are two RAM sticks in there. Each one has 2GB making a total of 4GB installed. Under system properties it says "Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (2.25 GB usable)" http://i.imgur.com/i6fvOjt.jpg

W7 64bit:Ok to install 32bit programs outside the 32bit programfolder?
OS: Win 7 64bit. Is it generally not a problem to choose to install a piece of 32bit software outside the win 7 default program folder for 32bit software? Or is 32bit software only supposed to be running flawlessly, if installed in that default 32bit folder? Thanks.
