    Restore Install Font Dialog?

I have a very large collection of fonts I have built up (and paid for) over time many still comply with the old 8.3 name format, hardly any of the font file name represent the actualy font name, so installing these by browsing the file name is not really an option, my font catalogue is fairly well organised, alphabetically but I and (as do many other people) still need the font dialogue back so the font name can be seen and allow you to install multiple fonts at a time.

Am I missing something or has the Install Font Dialogue totally gone?

This has made installing fonts a laborious and frustrating nightmare.

    Hi Reghakr,

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately this does not help, as I would be right clicking on a file, for example called; EGYT505L.TTF, which I would 'guess' was Egypt 505 Light (it was actually called Egyptian505 Light BT) so you can hopefully see my dilemma, I have literally 1000's of fonts that are not called the name of the font, so I would be randomly installing fonts, or having to preview loads before I found the actually font I was looking for. This is a nightmare if, like me (a designer) you are regularly installing fonts for jobs that need a specific font.

The old install font dialogue was easier as it allowed you to navigate to a directory which would list the actual name of the font.

    Hope the above makes sense.

I have had to install the incredibly clunky Font Navigator to get round this problem.

How ridiculous to take something simple like that out of an OS without giving the user (who apparently asked for this) the choice of having it.

    Cheers
