    Restore Point Question

    Hello,

    Ah, XP was so simple.

Want to set up a Restore Point.
Thought it would be a good idea.

Apparently the default for how often it takes it's "snapshot" is once a week.

Looked on all the screens, but just cannot see where there is an option to change this, and make it, perhaps, every other day, or so ?

Is there one ? Where ?

Seem to remember there was one in XP, but perhaps I'm wrong about this.

    Thanks,
    Bob

You can change the System Restore settings and create restore points in System Properties. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System, or click Start then right click Computer, choose Properties and click System Protection.

This tutorial tells how to create a restore point, this one how to create a shortcut to create a restore point. Both tutorials are from Brink, located in our excellent tutorials section.

I understood that a System Restore point is automatically generated after each successful boot, and any major change or addition to the O.S ( Providing that System Protection is switched ON.) As Kari says Click 'Start' them RIGHT Click 'Computer', Select 'Properties', then 'System Protection' to set your Restore Point if required.

You can go to search, task scheduler, system restore and change the default schedule, used to make restore points.
