Image your system with free Macrium

Excellent article. Thanks for linking it.

One curious discrepancy, though. According to the screen shot Gary provided, Reflect Free has an option for automatic verification but, according to the article, it doesn't. Being happily "stuck" with Pro, I have no way to verify (pardon the pun) that one way or the other.

I'd rep you but the forum won't let me (mutter, mutter, mumble, mumble).

In Pro, verify is also available in Restore. Did you check where I asked?
    Probably not. The thread is:

Ya oughta have a look anyway, you may discover something new.
    Apparently not.

Sounds like I guessed it right. They check the hash.

Gary's screenshot was not for verification of the image, but for verification of the filesystem being imaged before the backup.

You are correct; sorry about that! Apparently, the free version will not automatically verify an image after creation; yet another reason I'm glad to be using the Pro version. I'm surprised Macrium doesn't promote that when comparing their various versions; that's a marketing goldmine.

Absolutely. I would have upgraded for that alone. Not to mention any point on a comparison chart is valuable.

I think you are a little unusual in that.

I can't remember the last time I bothered to verify an image. I only do it when testing products.

    Not for my own use.

I never verified an image and never had a problem. Maybe I was just lucky.

What bother? I start the image, then leave it alone and do something else (watch TV, web surf, skip to my loo, snag a snack, whatever). About 9.5 minutes later, the image is done and verified without any bother on my part. I've had only one image to fail to verify. Had I found out just before or while restoring it, I would have been powerfully P.O.ed. Instead, I just ran it again and had no problems.
