Thanks, but that's not the problem. Everything is enabled in those settings. All the other animations work, its just the restore up/down. I'm 99% certain they just decided to not animate restore up/down, I just can't figure out why... I was surprised to not find anyone else complain about this or mention it at all. Not that I care, I use the Windows Classic theme, but I still found it shocking given all the hype around Aero to omit such a basic animation... The windows classic theme itself has quite a few bugs too, like the icons not showing while dragging, the status bar in Windows Explorer not showing free space, if you move something around the taskbar then the buttons remain "pressed" until you click somewhere else, the list goes on...
So I'm not surprised. I found a few of those visual bugs in the first 5 minutes of using Windows 7 and I find it mind boggling that they're there, I mean Microsoft spent years developing this, went thru months of beta testing... so it's gotta be on purpose, I mean you really have to go out of your way to disable those useful features and animations, I just can't figure out why...
