Whenever I re-start my PC ALL my system restore points are gone
W7 Ultimate 64bit
Single boot from drive c:
System restore for c: turned on - no others
current usage (one created manually) 32Mb
max allocated 7.5 Gb
Free disk space 29 Gb
restore not set for other drives
107Gb free (same physical disk) 123 Gb free 279 Gb free

Maybe with only 29GB free on restore point drive it may think its full and deleting them automatically.
You can try system restore on another drive with more space to see if that works.
I doubt it - I have just manually created 3 and it's only used 153Mb - I have 29Gb free and 7.5Gb allocated for restore files
Thanks - I have already tried a system repair from the original DVD and it said nothing to fix.
I have also tried restoring my drive c: from a backup I did last week and also doing a repair on that too.

A repair install (Upgrade over itself from desktop) is not the same as accessing the Repair console to see if issues need fixing.
A repair install keeps programs, files and settings in place but reinstalls the OS and reconfigures the boot.
It is the final step I take after fixes fail, and running sfc /scannow finds no fixable system file corruption.
Have you tried apportioning more space to restore points, just to see if they hold on longer?
I have allocated more space to volume and restore points
but this is weird
sfc /scannow ran - fixed mostly globalisation wallpapers thatwere deleted
Hmmm - full upgrade re-install gives this - very odd, especially as disk is ntfs!
Windows cannot be upgraded because the hard disk partition is formatted with an unsupported version of the NTFS file system. You must restart the computer using the Windows installation disc, perform a custom install, reformat the hard disk partition, and then reinstall your existing files, settings and programs. Go online to see how to install Windows 7 and keep your files and settings.
Don't really want to format C: and start again
I would let performance determine whether to correctly reformat.
How was the drive originally formatted?
Did you boot from Win7 installer and use Custom>Advanced drive tools to install 7?
Look in Disk Management at what the formatting for the drive says.
If you want to post a screenshot of the full Disk Management drive map, we can help you sort it out. Use snipping tool in Start menu, attach file using paper clip in reply box.
Yup do that ^^ and plus (just in case you didnt already know but) win7 is set up to auto delete them if there is not enough room on the drive to replace with a newer version.. plus if you have the auto backup features set up could be why as well as it is creating them for you as well as you doing them manually maybe.
That is really not a lot of room anyways for that more less backups or restore points i wouldnt think really even.
Might want to check / or read here as well as sounds like same issue
