System Restore Does not work - Norton

NORTON

This may have been mentioned before.
This only applies to those that have Norton Anti-Virus.

It has to do with Norton Product Tamper Protection inside Norton.

Windows 7 Upgrade from Vista.
System Restore did not work.
Above is one solution for those that have Norton.

Suggest you Clean reinstall to overcome the Norton infestation.

Use a lightweight free AV solution like Avast.

The performance boost will be substantial.

There is no 'Norton infestation' with NIS-2010, it's not the resource hog that all Norton programs have been for the last 6 years! I've removed it from 100's of machines in the past 6 years because if the bloat and performance hit...

When you have a few moments why not download the trial and prove it to yourself. It's now an excellent app.

Is it free now?

I also have removed it from many machines, most requiring clean reinstalls.

It was alway the worst of the bloatware then and under its newer identity in the witness protection program.

During the same period have installed Avast on over a hundred machines without a single issue or virus.

So why would I try anything else, unless it's free like MSE which has been much anticipated?

Nope it's not Free... I have no problem with Avast or MSE and install either one on client machines that don't want to buy a security product.

I wasn't suggesting that NIS2010 was a product that you switch to, I was only suggesting that you took it for a test drive to see for yourself that Norton has finally fixed the problem and is no longer the Bloatware that it's been for years.

Additionally I've have two instances so far this week that both MSE and Malwarebytes couldn't identify and repair, yet Norton fixed them both. I'm not a Norton Fanboy, don't sell the product as an affiliate, and just sharing my experience with product.
