    dns settings from acronis backup?

I'm using win7 and need to find out what my DNS servers are. I know about the cmd ipconfig/all but they aren't listed in there and they also are not listed in my routers page.

I have a backup image (acronis .tib) of xp that they were set up correctly in, but what folder would the ctrl panel and dns settings be in inside a backup?

Normally I'd just call the cable company for these, but it's not under my name and I'm the only one here for the holidays. Thanks for any help

DNS is usually assigned dynamically for your ISP, thus left blank. If you have a specific address for DNS that you want to use, just entered it yourself within your connection's properties.

Hi, yeah I'm aware DNS are assigned automatically, but I need to find out what they are to forward some ports. Comcast won't release them to me since I'm not the account owner (roommate is) . I'm guessing the DNS numbers would be stored in my old acronis XP backup before I installed win7.
I can mount that backup image, but how can you navigate to the control panel TCP/IP settings in a backup image of old XP C: drive ?

Wouldnt it be easier to have your roommate get the settings?

of course it would, but roommate is out of the country. Is there not a place that DNS numbers are saved in a cloned image? thanks

Try this from a command window

    Code:
    ipconfig /all

I know about the ip/config as in first post, but I need to find them from inside a backup image. Where in the cloned c: drive would they be? thanks

I'm not certain whether Acronis would have saved that setting or not. If it did, I have no idea of where it would be within the image.
