    System Restore

From what I read, the default is that Win 7 makes a restore place every night at midnight. I was just curious how many of these does it make? There would have to be some limit. Thanks,

You might check out System Protection in the Help section, but it mentions restore points being made prior to certain events or every seven days.

You can get the exact schedule by checking the task scheduler, just type it in search to find it. Before you make yourself crazy like I did, be advised that although the schedule might say once a week or once a day, it will not maintain that schedule if you made one manually. I, also, believe that it only works when the machine is on but not being used. It will make as many, as possible with the space allocated. Then the old ones are removed as new ones are made.

I hope that I have helped and that you enjoy your Windows 7 in good health during the New Year and for many to come.

If I remember correctly, it will use around 15% of partition if it's available. Type 'adv sys' (no quotes) in the start menu search bar and hit enter to open advanced system settings. Click on System Protection tab. Choose one of your partitions and click on configure to see or change settings.

Thanks Gary. You led me to the info. Mine was set at 5% which I guess in the default. It can be increased or decreased. I made a restore point just to see the amount of space used, it was .07 GB. It does not use much.

Your welcome. When I checked mine, it was set at 5% also.
