i just read on another site that you cant create a system image using Windows 7 home premium. that you need third party software to do it. they say its only reservered for the more expensive versions. is this true.

I use system image on home premium, but prefer the free software from Paragon

Yes, that is correct, however there are free/inexpensive alternatives.. Macrium Reflect is a very good one ... get it -=> here
